Let’s have a look at some of them: 5. Our brows help keep sweat from our eyes, but male facial hair plays an equally important role in sexually attracting the opposite sex. Apparently, most hair left on the human body serves no function. 6. No one knows why we retain these troublesome mucus-lined cavities, except perhaps to make the head lighter. 7. Our closest cousins, chimpanzees and gorillas, have an extra set of ribs. Most of us have 12, but 8% of adults have an extra one. 8. Early humans had to chew plants in order to get enough calories to survive, but these days only about 5% of the population has a set of these healthy yet useless teeth. Girls can’t stop thinking they’re fat and guys worry about having a lean and fit body. I have to ask: Does having the “ideal body” image really matter? I think the “ideal body” is to have a healthy body, not a beautiful one. Some people think it is normal: Teens sometimes try to get these looks by not eating at all, saying “oh, I am on a diet”. They do sports all day or pop weight loss pills. For boys, the “ideal body” is a muscular, lean body, and groomed hair. Most people think that guys are less concerned with looks, but this is not true. Guys are usually seen as tough, but this does not mean that they don’t feel the pressure to look perfect. Being fit and mentally healthy is one of the best things you can do for yourself. Society should not be telling you that you need to look like Scarlett Johansson or like Channing Tatum.
